There’s No Such Thing
as “Just a Volunteer”

Almost every non-profit, public agency or health-care facility is stressed by reduced funds, inadequate staffing or changing needs. Every organization needs volunteers to sustain goals, but not all managers have the skills to maintain an engaged and productive board, committees, volunteers, or fund-raising assistants. Volunteer managers can help build the capacity of their agency by learning the skills needed to manage unpaid staff and by establishing ethical, best practices to lead their service partners.
